Legal representatives from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Peru were recently brought together by Beretta Godoy to discuss the impact of the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) on multinational companies operating within Latin America, where the differences in transparency legislation between the five countries, the best methods for companies to implement an effective anti‐corruption policy and what protections are available to whistle blowers were all discussed.
Beretta Godoy, for Argentina, invited Cariola Diez Pérez Cotapos (Chile), Rodrigo Elías & Medrano (Peru), Brigard & Urrutia (Colombia) and Veirano Advogados (Brazil) to jointly analyze the implications of FCPA policies in theri jurisdictions.
