On May 23, 24 and 25, 2018, the 10th Latin American Regional Meeting of the International Fiscal Association was held in San José, Costa Rica, where it gathered the Latin American tax community. The organization of the meeting was in charge of the Local Group of IFA Costa Rica and the Costa Rican Institute of Fiscal Studies (ICEF).
The conference had two thematic axes of interest in the current context of international taxation: the evolution and development of measures against harmful tax practices in Latin America: the BEPS Action Plan 5, and the adaptation of the International Treaties to the multilateral framework proposed by the 15 BEPS Action Plan.
Tomás Balzano, partner in charge of the tax practice at Beretta Godoy, was invited as speaker in the panel on Civil and criminal liability of tax advisors in aggressive tax planning processes, moderated by Allan Sabario (Costa Rica) and integrated by Paola Requena Santa Cruz (Bolivia), Christian Blanche (Chile), Bolivar Figueroa (Ecuador), Manuel Ramírez (Guatemala), Edgar Anaya (Mexico) and Alex Córdova (Peru).
