The Central Bank of Argentina enabled bank accounts in yuan.

Through the communication “A” 7996, published on June 29 of 2023, the Central Bank of Argentina included the yuan renminbi as an admitted currency for deposit acquisitions in savings accounts and checking accounts. Argentine financial institutions will thus be able to open bank accounts denominated in yuan renminbi.

The measure is complementary to General Resolution 965/2023, issued a few days ago by the National Securities Commission, which enabled the trading of securities in yuan renminbi.
