On December 12, 2016 by means of Resolution 525-E/2016 the National Ministry of Transport published the bidding documents for the National Public Tender No. 15/2016 for the construction of a new harbor on the Province of Corrientes.
The new harbor will be located on the left side of the Paraná River in the zone known as “Upper Parana” in the north-west region of Corrientes Province. The official budget for the works amounts to ARS 331 million.

Offers must be filed before February 20, 2017.
Local and foreign companies are invited to submit their offers, individually or by means of a joint venture. The offerors must be dully registered in the Public Register of Commerce, the Tax Bureau and the National Registry of Contractors of Public Works.
The main objective of the port will be to improve the logistic development of the region, especially transportation of goods within the province. It is expected the new harbor will foster the potential rice and wood production.
On a more technical note, the water depth of the port is planned to be 3,886 meters and 1,894 for low tides meters deep. The harbor is planned to have 237 meters long and 30 meters wide.
