Federico Godoy organized a seminar on Legal Trends in South American Mining that took place on March 4 in Toronto, Canada, at Gowling’s offices. France Tenaille (Gowlings) moderated and Federico shared the panel with leading practitioners from South America’s key mining markets: Marianna Boza (Brigard & Urrutia, Colombia), Pedro García (Veirano Advogados, Brasil), Bernardo Tobar (Tobar y Bustamante, Ecuador), Pedro Lyon Bascur (Guerrero Olivos, Chile) and Xennia Forno (Rubio Leguía Normand, Perú). The speakers analyzed practical perspectives on the latest trends and issues impacting the mining industry and explained why, despite a softening in the global mining sector, Latin America continues to grow as a destination for mining investment.
